We reimagined "Neckline" to be closer to true pop. Touring off this album, we often covered "Pink Pony Club" and we wanted the harmonies, the strings, the synth to reach towards that Chappell Roan grandiosity. Philadelphia-based indie pop band The Noisy first began as a solo vehicle for poet and singer/songwriter Sara Mae, but they quickly expanded the project’s line-up and stylistic scale. They brought together a full band and began pulling from a sprawling range of musical and visual inspirations, including dream pop, indie rock, country, spaghetti westerns, body horror, and drag.
